Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara met in New York with representatives of the Ukrainian American community

President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych keeps the issue of the construction of the Holodomor Memorial in Washington, DC, under scrutiny.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Leonid Kozhara, while in the U.S., emphasized that at the meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian American community, held on May 7, 2013, in New York at the Ukrainian Institute of America.

During the meeting, the Minister informed of the progress of systemic reforms carried out by the Ukrainian authorities, foreign policy priorities of Ukraine and the development of a strategic partnership with the United States.

L.Kozhara expressed his gratitude to the Ukrainian American community for its contribution to the development of Ukrainian-American relations and its role in strengthening the statehood of Ukraine.

Ukraine's Foreign Minister stressed on the importance of continuing an open and meaningful dialogue between the Ukrainian community and the Ukrainian official representatives.

Also, L.Kozhara highly appreciated the efforts of the Ukrainian American community in the support of Ukraine’s European aspirations by the United States.
