Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk met with Primate of the Orthodox Church in America Metropolitan Tikhon

On May 23, 2013 Ukraine’s Ambassador to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk met with Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, His Beatitude Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada Tikhon.
During the meeting it was stressed that the church plays an important role in the modern world aimed at strengthening spiritual values, peace and harmony between peoples.
Ukraine’s Ambassador informed Metropolitan Tikhon of commemorative events to be held on July 26-28, 2013 in Ukraine on the occasion of the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of the Kyivan Rus, and extended him an invitation from President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to take part in the celebrations.
