On November 1, 2013 Ukraine’s Ambassador to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk met with Luis CdeBaca, Ambassador-at-Large, Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons, U.S. Department of State.
During the meeting the parties discussed the issue of Ukrainian-American relations in the sphere of fighting human trafficking, including preparation for bilateral interagency consultations in this sphere that will take place on November 12, 2013 in Washington, DC.
Ambassador Motsyk informed of Ukraine’s efforts in combatting human trafficking within the recommendations laid out in 2013 U.S. State Department Trafficking in Persons Report.
Ambassador CdeBaca marked the activity of our country in this sphere, in particular the High-Level Conference “Strengthening the OSCE Response to Trafficking in Human Beings” held in Kyiv in June 2013 in the framework of Ukraine’s OSCE Chairmanship.
Also, during the meeting Ambassador Motsyk informed the American diplomat of the measures of Ukraine’s Government to sign the Association Agreement with EU in November this year in Vilnus at the Eastern Partnership Summit that will encourage further harmonization of national laws in the sphere of human rights.
