On October 31, 2013, during his visit to New Haven, Connecticut, Ambassador of Ukraine Olexander Motsyk met with business representatives and local authorities of the states of Connecticut and Rhode Island to promote the development of the Ukraine - U.S. regional cooperation and facilitate the attraction of American investments in Ukrainian economy.
Ambassador Motsyk informed business and political circles about the pace of social and economic reforms in Ukraine, business environment, export and investment opportunities of Ukrainian regions. Special attention was paid to the foreign policy priorities, including strategic partnership with the United States and European aspirations of Ukraine.
The sides exchanged views concerning the promising areas of cooperation in business and investments, joint projects between the states of Connecticut and Rhode Island and the regions of Ukraine, namely Zhytomyr and Rivne regions, which have already expressed their willingness to establish mutually beneficial connections with the American states.
The meeting has become yet another important step towards development of the U.S. - Ukraine regional cooperation, and demonstrated American support of Ukraine’s foreign policy, in particular aimed at strengthening energy security of our country and the establishment of a deep and comprehensive free trade zone with the EU.
