On July 15-17, 2011, the 5th Annual Ukrainian Cultural Festival took place at Soyuzivka Heritage Center in Kerhonkson, NY, under the patronage of the Embassy of Ukraine to the United States. The Festival was organized by the Ukrainian National Foundation and the Ukrainian National Association.
Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Olexander Motsyk in his welcoming letter to organizers, participants and guests of the Festival emphasized on particular importance of this event for ensuring wider international recognition of the wealth and an inexhaustible potential of the Ukrainian national art and cultural heritage.
Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Ukrainian National Foundation and the Ukrainian National Assembly for successful organization of the Festival. Olexander Motsyk also praised the Ukrainian American Community for its significant contribution into restoration of the Ukrainian statehood, preserving national identity, strengthening of Ukraine-U.S. relations and supporting further development of Ukraine as a democratic, prosperous and European state.
5th Ukrainian Cultural Festival at Soyuzivka, like in previous years, gathered thousands of guests, who had an opportunity to get acquainted with talented Ukrainian performers from the U.S. and Canada. The National Artist of Ukraine Maria Burmaka was the Festival’s special guest from Ukraine.
