The flag lowering ceremony took place at Embassy of Ukraine to the U.S. to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Holodomor 1932-1933 in Ukraine.
Addressing the audience, Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk underlined that we should always keep in our hearts the memory about millions of victims of the Holodomor and do everything possible to ensure that such tragedies never could happen again. A strong, democratic and prosperous Ukraine, an integral part of the united Europe, will be the best guaranty to prevent that.
As a tribute to the memory of those, who have passed into eternity during the Holodomor, the candles were lit at the windows of the Embassy.
