On November 20, 2013, the Center for European Policy Analysis, an American think-tank, held a discussion with Zcolt Nemeth, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Hungary on the topic “A Unique Moment for the Eastern Partnership: Looking Towards the Vilnius Summit”. Ambassadors of Ukraine, Hungary, and Moldova to the U.S. took part in the event that was attended by representatives of the Department of State, U.S. Congress staff, diplomatic corps and experts.
In his remarks, Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk informed the audience of the measures taken by the Ukrainian Government to meet the criteria required for the signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU at the Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit. Olexander Motsyk underlined that the signing of this document will facilitate Ukraine’s approaching the EU, will give a positive impetus to the development of the Eastern Partnership, and will be beneficial for the region as a whole, including the Russian Federation.
