On December 3, 2013 Ukraine’s Ambassador to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk met with Frederick Thomas, Chief Executive of MHz Networks, the largest non-commercial digital broadcast TV network in the U.S.
The meeting was held to herald the new joint project between MHz Networks and the National Television Company of Ukraine that has been initiated and facilitated by the Embassy of Ukraine in the U.S.
As part of the partnership, an evening newscast “Results of The Day” from the First Ukraine TV Channel of the National Television Company of Ukraine was launched on MHz Networks 1 channel in Washington, D.C. on December 2, 2013.
The program can be viewed on digital broadcast channel 30.1, as well as on Comcast, Cox, RCN, Verizon FiOS, Dish Network and DirecTV in the D.C. area, Mondays-Saturdays, 11:30 PM.
At the meeting F. Thomas marked that MHz Networks is an independent, non-commercial television broadcaster delivering international programming, direct from the source without editing and providing diverse cultural perspectives for a globally-minded audience.
For his part, Ambassador Motsyk extended his gratitude to F. Thomas and MHz Networks personnel for cooperation with the National Television Company of Ukraine, emphasized the importance of having available the Ukrainian TV programs in the U.S. and assured F. Thomas that the Embassy is prepared to provide full cooperation in the implementation of this project.
The next stage of the partnership will involve English-language programs of the National Television Company of Ukraine that will be available on MHz Networks channel nationwide to more than 40 million broadcast, cable, satellite and telco households including in New York City, San-Francisco, Los-Angeles and other major U.S. cities, as well as digital MHz distribution.
