On February 16, 2012, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Olexander Motsyk met with Rabbi Andrew Baker, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairmanship on Combating Anti-Semitism and Director of International Jewish Affairs for the American Jewish Committee.
During the meeting Mr. Motsyk and Mr. Baker discussed the steps taken by the Government of Ukraine to combat xenophobia, ethnic hatred and anti-Semitism.
Mr. Baker informed the Ambassador about the development of the pilot project to mark and memorialize 5 sights of the mass graves of victims of the Holocaust in Ukraine. He noted with gratitude that both the Ukrainian Government and local authorities are welcoming this initiative of the Jewish community which is funded by the German Government.
