In the framework of the National Prayer Breakfast of the United States of America, which traditionally takes place annually at the beginning of February, the sixth Annual Ukrainian Prayer Breakfast was held on February 3-rd, 2012, in Washington D.C.
The Ukrainian Breakfast in Washington is organized by a group of the U.S. politicians and businessmen of the Ukrainian descent. The idea of Prayer Breakfasts, launched in the U.S. in 1952, is to make Christian values more commonly used in the domestic politics and international relations.
The event was attended by the Presidential Adviser, Head
of Presidential Administration Main Office for Humanitarian and Socio-Political Affairs Hanna Herman, members of the Parliament of Ukraine from different political factions, other officials, civil society and business leaders from Ukraine, the United States, and other foreign countries.
Ukrainian Ambassador Olexander Motsyk addressed the audience emphasizing that this long-term tradition to gather for Prayer Breakfasts in Washington D.C. is extremely important in terms of encouraging friendly dialogue among different countries.
Ambassador Motsyk underlined the need for more unity and solidarity of the Ukrainian nation over the common values in order to successfully implement systemic reforms and European integration course of Ukraine.
