May 24, 2011, one of the Washington DC concert venues welcomed the guests of the Ukraine’s renowned singer and world famous artist Nina Matvienko with «Ukrainian spring» concert. This music event supported by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Olexander Motsyk commemorated the 20th anniversary of Ukraine Independence and became possible due to the Embassy of Ukraine Culture and Information Center and American children dance studio «Eminence Dance».

The concert was featuring a diverse program of ancient folk songs, the Ukrainian Baroque pieces of XVI-XVII centuries, ballades, lyrical and satirical songs of later periods and also the works of contemporary Ukrainian authors including the favorite of Ukrainian «Oj, letily dyki husy…» and «Enchanted violin». The vocal and artistic excellence of the performance totally won the audience.

The special appeal to the concert was created by children of «Eminence Dance» studio from Baltimore who presented special Ukrainian dance compositions.

After the concert, Nina Matvienko received great ovation, the audience would not let the artist to leave the stage.

The «Ukrainian spring» concert of Nina Matvienko became the first one for American public. Before that she had performed only for Ukrainian diaspora.
