May 18, 2011 – A chamber music recital featuring the Ukrainian duet of Solomia Gorokhivska (violin) and Andrei Pidkivka (flute) took place at the Embassy of Ukraine venue. The event was organized by the Ukrainian Culture and Information Centre together with International Club of DC.

These talented Ukrainian musicians better known to American audience as virtuoso performers of Ukrainian folk music presented the Classic Baroque style works famously called  «the royal palace music».

The program included pieces by J.S.Bach, I.Pleyer, C.Debussy, and A. Makris.

After the concert the guests were invited to watch the documentary about Ukraine and enjoy the exhibition of photo collection by Ukrainian artist Oleksandr Maystruk, paintings by Andrei Kushnir, images of Ukrainian traditional wedding costume, and works by sculptor Ihor Grechanyk, as well as indulge in traditional Ukrainian dishes prepared by the Embassy chef.
