May 14, 2011. A marvelous cultural event organized under the auspices of «Passport DC» program with the assistance of Ukrainian Citizens International Association took place at the Embassy of Ukraine.

Ukrainian Embassy was one of thirty six diplomatic missions in Washington DC that opened its doors today to the residents and guests of the metropolitan area to showcase their authentic culture, art, music and food. As the general public walked through the residence every visitor was able to enjoy the sights, sounds and flavors of Ukraine, experience the diversity and richness of its cultural heritage and modern times.

The event was featuring the exhibitions of Ukrainian national costumes and embroidered as well as traditional hand crafts and Ukrainian pysanka (Easter eggs) presented by Myroslava Semerey, the exhibition of images of Ukrainian traditional wedding costumes, photo exhibition by talented photographer from Rivne, Ukraine, Oleksandr Maystruk, painting exhibition by Ukrainian American artist Adrei Kushnir.

The event will also feature tasting of traditional Ukrainian food prepared by the Embassy’s Chef, musical recitals by Andrei Pidkivka (flute) and vocal performances by Ukrainian Folk Choir of the Washington Area under the auspices of Ukraina Citizens International Association.
