The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine pays tribute to American musicians of Ukrainian descent

On May 22, 2014, the Library of Congress hosted a concert by Gerdan Ukrainian Folk Ensemble, which includes Ukrainian-Americans Solomiya Gorohivska (violin) and Andriy Pidkivka (flute) and Bulgarian-American Kalin Kirilov (accordion).
Ukraine’s Embassy Counselor Stanislav Yezhov addressed the audience before the concert and presented Ms. Gorohivska and Mr. Pidkivka with Certificates of Recognition from the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine for their weighty contribution to the development and popularization of Ukrainian culture in the U.S., as well as for their high professional skills.
The concert took place in a very warm and positive atmosphere, enabling American audience to experience diverse Ukrainian musical culture first-hand.
