On May 28, 2014, Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk met with more than 20 members of U.S. – Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), including world-known «Chevron», «The Boeing Company», «Deere and Co.», «ArcelorMittal», «PricewaterhouseCoopers», «AGCO Corporation», «Cub Energy», «SC Jonson», «Cargill», «Monsanto» and «DuPont Pioneer».
The attendees represented the priority spheres of Ukrainian-American cooperation, namely energy, agriculture and high technology.
Ambassador Motsyk informed the attendees of the results of the early presidential elections, namely,the election of Petro Poroshenko as the President of Ukraine, provided an update on the current political situation (particularly in the south-eastern regions of the country), elaborated on the priorities of social and economic reforms and Government’s efforts to foster positive business-environment and improve investment climate in our country. O.Motsyk also outlined the current situation regarding the prospects of the «gas conflict» with Russia and available opportunities to support implementation of the joint US-Ukrainian projects from the Export-Іmport Bank, OPIC and the U.S. Agency for Trade and Development.
Special attention was paid to the export and investment opportunities of Ukrainian businesses, infrastructure projects, as well as current issues of trade, economic and investment relations between Ukraine and the United States, particularly in energy, agriculture, aerospace and IT sector.
The U.S. companies shared their experiences of doing business in Ukraine and discussed future plans for business development, implementation of investment projects in the country, etc.
Ambassador’s meeting with leading American companies working in Ukraine continues the tradition of open dialogue with private business for further development of Ukrainian-American cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres. Representatives of the U.S. companies have expressed their support of the newly elected President of Ukraine and their willingness to further develop their business in Ukraine and expand cooperation with Ukrainian enterprises.
