Ukraine’s Ambassador to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk met with U.S. Senator for Lousiana, the Chair of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security and a member of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and Small Business and Entrepreneurship committees Mary L. Landrieu.
During the meeting Ambassador O.Motsyk informed his counterpart of the recent political developments in Ukraine, in particular, successful early presidential elections and electing already during the first round of the elections Mr. Petro Poroshenko as the President of Ukraine.
The Ambassador extended his deep appreciation to the U.S. Administration and the U.S. Congress for assistance rendered to our country at these difficult times caused by the Russian aggression.
While discussing the energy security issues O.Motsyk elaborated on the Ukrainian position regarding the settlement of the issue of the Russian gas supply to our country.
For her part, M.Landrieu expressed support to Ukraine on its path to the independent, democratic and prosperous country.
