On June 30, 2014, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a phone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and President of France François Hollande.

In the course of the conversation, Petro Poroshenko informed international partners, with whom he had held a constant dialogue, that on June 30, 22:00, the validity of the ceasefire regime expired and following the NSDC meeting, he made a decision not to continue the ceasefire.

The Head of State emphasized that the Ukrainian party has been completely fulfilling its commitments and unilaterally complying with the ceasefire regime for 10 days and paid dozens of lives for that.

At the same time, the Ukrainian President noted that in case of the implementation of basic items of the peace plan upon which the position was agreed both in the decision of the European Council on June 27 and in the course of the quadripartite conference call, particularly: bilateral ceasefire, establishment of a reliable control on the Ukrainian-Russian border with monitoring and verification of the OSCE and release of all illegally captured hostages, Ukraine will be ready to begin political negotiations without any additional conditions for the implementation of the peace plan in the Donbas.
