During the meeting Ambassador Motsyk informed of the situation in Ukraine caused by the Russian aggression, the efforts of the President and the Government of Ukraine aimed at the settlement of this situation. He also noted the importance of further U.S. and the EU support to Ukraine at these difficult times.

The Ambassador elaborated on the position of our country on the resolution of Ukraine-Russia gas dispute.

While discussing the issue of the energy security of Ukraine D.Poneman noted a significant progress in the bilateral nuclear energy cooperation. U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy also expressed support to Ukraine’s efforts to establish a competitive energy market.
