On July 11-13, 2014, the 8th Annual Ukrainian Cultural Festival took place at Soyuzivka Heritage Center in Kerhonkson, NY, under the patronage of the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States.
The Festival was organized by the Ukrainian National Foundation and dedicated to the Euromaidan. Money raised at the Charity Gala Reception at the opening night of the festival on Friday, July 11th, will be donated to support Ukraine.
Soyuzivka’s Ukrainian Cultural Festival, like in previous years, gathered thousands of guests. The festival program included: Filmfest honoring Euromaidan, Ukrainian Village Exhibit, a variety of contests as well as Ukrainian dancing, music and songs of the U.S., Canada and Ukraine’s performers. Special guests of the festival were famous Ukrainian singers Ruslana and Oleh Skrypka.
In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Olexander Motsyk expressed his deep gratitude to the Ukrainian National Foundation and the Ukrainian National Assembly for significant contribution of the Ukrainian Americans into restoration of the Ukrainian statehood, preserving national identity and strengthening of Ukraine-U.S. relations, especially - for consistent support of Ukraine at this difficult time.
