On March 11, 2011, Ambassador of Ukraine Olexander Motsyk met with the U.S. Representative and Co-chair of the Ukrainian Congressional Caucus Sander Martin Levin of Michigan.
The discussion was focused on the priorities of Ukraine-U.S. relations, including the development of cooperation between the Verkhovna Rada and the U.S. Congress.
Ukrainian Ambassador updated U.S. Representative on Ukraine’s efforts to establish the Holodomor Memorial in Washington D.C. In this regard Olexander Motsyk thanked Congressmen for his personal significant contribution, which led to the U.S. Congress decision on allocation of a plot of land for the Memorial.
Representative Levin was also briefed about this year scheduled events to commemorate 25th Anniversary of Chernobyl tragedy.
Ambassador Motsyk praised Congressman Levin for his significant contribution to the Ukraine-U.S. strategic partnership, as well as for personal involvement and active role in the activity of Ukrainian Congressional Caucus, and expressed gratitude for his constant support and attention to the needs of the Ukrainian American community.
