President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a phone conversation with Prime Minister of Malaysia Najib Razak.
The Head of State noted the efficiency of his meeting with Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah bin Haji Aman and Minister of Transport Liow Tiong Lai in the course of which the parties had discussed the issues related to the terrorist act as a result of which passengers and crew of Malaysia Airlines aircraft had been killed, among them 23 Malaysian citizens.
The Prime Minister of Malaysia expressed gratitude to the Ukrainian party for the efforts in overcoming the consequences of the tragedy and asked what assistance the Malaysian party could provide to ensure the security of the crash site and the inviolability of the evidence for the period of investigation.
In response, the President expressed gratitude for mutual assistance and informed that the day before bilateral intergovernmental documents had been signed with the Kingdom of the Netherlands to delegate authority to the Netherlands to investigate into circumstances of the plane crash. Also, the document has been signed with Australia under which the given country will send the civilian police mission to guard the crash site.
The Prime Minister of Malaysia informed that his country would consider the possibility of involving Malaysian forces in the work of the police contingent to ensure comprehensive and independent expert investigation.
