On August 11, 2014, Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk met with Morgan Williams, President of U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), at the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington, DC.
During the meeting Ambassador Motsyk and M.Williams discussed joint actions of the Embassy and U.S.-Ukraine Business Council, aimed at further development of trade, economic, investment and interregional cooperation between Ukraine and the United States. They also touched upon the possibility of arranging various business events and bilateral meetings with the leaders of major American companies within the framework of visits of Ukrainian officials to the U.S. throughout 2014.
Special attention was paid to the U.S. business support of Ukraine during these difficult times, including the introduction of economic sanctions against Russia and restrictions against any economic cooperation with the Crimea until constitutional order is restored.
M.Williams emphasized that American companies are interested in implementing new projects in our country as well as expanding cooperation with Ukrainian enterprises in the spheres of energy, agriculture and IT.
As the result of meeting, the Embassy - USUBC joint action plan for 2014 was updated. It was also agreed to hold (with USUBC’s assistance) during this year Ambassador’s meetings with the representatives of leading American companies in a number of American states, including Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and New Jersey.
