During the meeting Ambassador Motsyk informed American businessman about the current situation in Ukraine. He also touched upon the «Reform strategy – 2020», recently presented by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, and priorities of Ukrainian Government’s economic policy, laid out in the Action Plan «Restoring Ukraine».

«Despite the complicated situation in eastern Ukraine, the Government is not going to put off the implementation of priority socio-economic reforms and will further strengthen the struggle against corruption, fostering favorable conditions for doing business in our country», said Ambassador Motsyk.

Special attention was also paid to significant export and investment opportunities of Ukrainian agricultural sector.

«Ukraine is one of the few countries that have nearly perfect conditions to develop its agriculture and double food production in short terms, which is especially important in the context of global food security», stressed the Ambassador.

In his turn, the President of «Dupont Pioneer», which is an agricultural division of one of the largest chemical companies in the world «DuPont», shared his plans for expansion in Ukraine. Specifically, he touched upon company's willingness to invest not only in the expansion of its own production, but also in the development of research facilities in Ukraine as well as capacities for training highly qualified specialists in modern Ukrainian agriculture and bioengineering.

«Dupont Pioneer» sees Ukraine as world's most powerful player in agricultural sector along with such countries as India, Brazil and China», said Mr. Schickler.

Ambassador Motsyk thanked «Dupont Pioneer» for its commitment to invest in modernization of Ukraine’s agricultural sector, creation of new jobs for Ukrainians, development of relevant scientific research and training, as well as for the support of necessary reforms in social and economic spheres.
