On October 8, 2014, Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk addressed the members of the Rotary Club of Washington, D.C.

The club, founded in June 1912, is the oldest club in the Nation’s Capital. It is involved in projects that give back to the local community and benefit those in need around the world. The Club’s  social events include movie nights, book parties and events at landmark D.C. locations.

At the weekly meetings in the University Club of Washington the Club members welcome Ambassadors and businessmen, government officials and community leaders from around the world.

Ambassador Motsyk spoke about the latest developments in Ukraine, the ongoing aggression of Russia and its information war against our country, aimed at discrediting Ukraine in international public opinion.

“For all the tragedy of recent developments in Ukraine, they have demonstrated that in face of enormous challenges, the Ukrainians have chosen not to give in, but to stand up for their rights and freedoms, and to unite to preserve their country’s sovereignty. What can be observed today is the reemergence of a new civilized European nation, determined to build its future on the everlasting principles of accountable government, respect for human rights, dynamic civil society, free media and protected national security”, Ambassador Motsyk said.
