President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a phone conversation with U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden.
Joseph Biden congratulated Ukraine on the rapid formation of the government determined to implement reforms.
Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude to Joseph Biden for his support of Ukraine and the readiness of the United States to further strengthen Transatlantic solidarity for the EU and the U.S. to take decisive action on peaceful settlement of the situation in the Donbas.
Vice President Biden informed on the readiness of the United States to discuss further economic and financial support of Ukraine. The parties have also discussed the attraction of the IMF's funds. Financial cooperation and economic assistance will be discussed with the delegation of the U.S. Department of the Treasury in Kyiv next week.
The interlocutors have also discussed humanitarian situation in the Donbas, particularly the decision of the Ukrainian authorities to terminate funding, for those funds were being stolen to support terrorism. The parties discussed the possibility of supplying humanitarian aid for the Donbas people living in the occupied territories.
Petro Poroshenko and Joseph Biden continued their dialogue on the topical issues of military-technical cooperation and possible implementation of alternative scenarios of energy supply.
