On December 17, 2014, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oleхander Motsyk participated in the annual meeting of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) to discuss business development and implementation of reforms in Ukraine.
Approximately 40 representatives of the Council’s member companies, including «John Deere», «ExxonMobil», «Bunge», «Cargill», «Dentons», «Monsanto», «Boeing», «Philip Morris International» and «ADM», as well as U.S. Government agencies, U.S. expert community and the Ukrainian diaspora participated in the event at the premises of «Baker & McKenzie».
The meeting was devoted to the discussion of the possibilities to deepen trade, economic and investment cooperation between Ukraine and the United States, improvement of the regulatory environment, tax and customs regulations in Ukraine. Also, the USUBC’s plans and activities in 2015 were discussed.
Ambassador Motsyk informed participants about the current situation in eastern Ukraine, a new Government, the implementation of reforms during February-November 2014, and the Government's economic policy priorities in 2015, in particular the President’s "Reforms Strategy - 2020".
The Ambassador thanked USUBC’s President Morgan Williams and the Council, which now has 208 members and is the largest bilateral business association of this type, for a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian-American cooperation and support of Ukrainian business.
During the discussion, representatives of U.S. companies shared their experience and future plans of doing business in Ukraine. The Ambassador of Ukraine assured U.S. businessmen that the support of business and creating of a favorable investment climate is one of the top priorities of the Ukrainian Government today. The Ambassador encouraged American business to continue investment activity in Ukraine by expanding existing production facilities and launching new investment projects.
