On February 22, 2015 an event to commemorate the Fallen Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred took place at the Ukrainian Catholic Shrine of the Holy Family, Washington, DC.
The event was organized by Ukrainian American organization "Razom" in cooperation with the Embassy of Ukraine in the U.S.
During the concert members of Ukrainian community, Ukrainian Embassy diplomats and their children shared the poetry and songs of the Maidan.
A capella group "Spiv-Zhyttya" performed an impressive song "Prayer", composed by Viktor Morozov, member of the group.
The audience could not refrain from tears while listening to these touching songs and looking at the “Maidan Through the Lens” exhibit.
Ukraine’s Ambassador to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk and His Excellence Bishop John Bura addressed the audience with short remarks.
In his speech the Ambassador stressed, that the heroes of the Heavenly Hundred picked up the torch from the heroes of Kruty and other heroes of Ukraine. "Now this torch is picked up by heroes defending our Motherland in east Ukraine," the Head of Ukraine’s diplomatic mission said.
