On March 27, 2015 Ukraine Embassy in the U.S. hosted a presentation of Ukrainian English-language TV Channel “Ukraine Today”.
In his welcoming remarks, Ukraine’s Ambassador to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk emphasized the importance of broadcasting of the news from Ukraine in English especially now that our country counters not only Russian military aggression and economic pressure, but also unprecedented information war waged by the Kremlin all over the world.
During her presentation, Dr. Lada Roslycky, Director of Strategic Communications at “Ukraine Today” underlined that “where the tentacles of violence and corruption do not reach, countries-aggressors use soft power aggression to target hearts and minds to create distrust, hate and fear among nations and their citizens.”
Also, the Embassy guests watched “Ukraine Today” production documentary film entitled ‘Tortured Femininity’ that provides intimate insight into how the war in Ukraine has directly impacted the lives of Russian-speaking Ukrainian women who supported the Revolution of Dignity on Maidan 2013-2014 and later lived to pay the consequences.
The attendees of the event included officials of The State Department, staffers of Congress and The White House, major American think tanks, U.S. and Ukrainian media, representatives of Ukrainian organizations, as well as friends of the Embassy.
