On August 20, 2015 representatives of the Ukrainian initiative and NGO Goglobal met at the Embassy of Ukraine to the USA with Vitalii Tarasiuk, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy and representatives of the Embassy’s Economic and Trade Office.
Goglobal Initiative promotes learning of foreign languages in Ukraine by developing opportunities, techniques and improving foreign language qualifications through educational programs and training. Goglobal activists included Ukrainian Government representatives, regional authorities, and members of scientific and educational organizations.
Ukrainian representatives participate in the three-week training program of the U.S. Department of State – International Visitor Leadership Program project for Ukraine entitled “Supporting English Teaching and Learning”, aimed to help in the teaching of English. The program includes working visits to Washington, D.C, Baltimore, MD, Orlando, FL, Portland, OR and Minneapolis, MN.
Vitalii Tarasiuk and Trade Office’s representatives informed Ukrainian participants about Embassy’s activities in promotion and protection of Ukrainian national interests; facilitation of scientific and cultural cooperation; interregional cooperation between Ukraine and the USA, using general consulates and honorary consuls of Ukraine in the U.S., as well as activities to promote bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation.
The sides highly appreciated prospects of Goglobal Initiative and the importance of the U.S. assistance in this regard. In particular, the U.S. training program provides experience, best practices and mutually beneficial contacts supporting English language teaching and learning.
