With the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA, the Art Exhibit “The Revolution of Dignity: Images of Ukraine’s Maidan 2013-2014” was opened to the public on August 24, 2015, at the University of Arkansas School of Law (Fayetteville, AR).
Earlier this year, the Exhibit was on display in Washington, DC, for three months at the Kennan Institute of the Wilson Center and the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA.
The Exhibit features forty works by seventeen Ukrainian artists inspired by dramatic public protests in Ukraine against the corrupted regime in November 2013 - February 2014 known as the Revolution of Dignity. Artists used multiple media for their works: painting, collage, embroidery, and photo; however, the Exhibit presents the works in poster form. This is very symbolic because the Maidan witnessed a great explosion of all forms and genres of art, but posters were the most effective and popular.
The Art Exhibit “The Revolution of Dignity: Images of Ukraine’s Maidan 2013-2014” that travels around the USA and Ukraine is co-sponsored by the Modern Art Research Institute (the National Academy of Art of Ukraine), the Fulbright Program - Ukraine and the Kennan Institute of the Wilson Center.
