On the 150th anniversary of Ukrainian Metropolitan Archbishop Andriy Sheptytsky’s birth, the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA has the pleasure to invite everyone to visit an Exhibit of archives related to the life of this prominent personality.
All documents and pictures on display are provided to the Embassy by the Central Historic Archives of Ukraine. The Exhibit is open to public at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity in Silver Spring, MD, from August 23 until November 1, 2015.
Andriy Sheptytsky (July 29 - November 1, 2015) was a famous Ukrainian public and religious figure, philanthropist, Metropolitan of Halychyna / Eastern Galicia (western Ukraine), Archbishop of Lviv and Bishop of Kamianets-Podilskyi (city in western Ukraine). His tenure spanned two world wars and seven political regimes. He laid the foundations of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and was widely recognized as the “Ukrainian Moses”.
