On October 27, 2015, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly met with a co-Chair of the U.S. Senate Ukraine Caucus Robert Portman.
Senator Portman praised Ukraine on the successful local elections held on October 25, 2015, recognized a progress in implementation of reforms, and reaffirmed his continuous support for Ukraine. The interlocutors also discussed implementation of the Minsk agreements. Ukraine’s Ambassador emphasized the importance of the U.S. leadership in keeping further transatlantic solidarity with Ukraine, as well as political, defense, financial and other forms of the United States' assistance to Ukraine in its resistance against the Russian aggression. Senator Portman also invited Ambassador Chaly to visit the state of Ohio, which he represents in the United States Senate.
