On November 25, 2015, the U.S. President Barack Obama signed into law the revised National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2016.
The law authorized for $300 millions from the budget to be available to the Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Secretary of State, for appropriation as the security assistance and intelligence support to the Government of Ukraine in the fiscal year of 2016, while $50 millions of the authorized amount can be allocated for the lethal assistance.
We welcome this important decision that demonstrated the unity in positions of the U.S. Administration and the Congress in support of Ukraine in countering the Russian military aggression.
