On November 21, 2015 Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Valeriy Chaly took part in a commemorative event, organized by the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America in New York City to mark the 82th anniversary of the Holodomor - genocide 1932-1933 in Ukraine.
Ukrainian diplomats, diplomatic corps and the Ukrainian diaspora, as well as other national minorities’ representatives attended this event.
A requiem service for the memory of the Holodomor victims was served at St. Patrick's Cathedral by hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox and Ukrainian Catholic churches in the United States.
In the speech delivered after the service, Ambassador of Ukraine Valeriy Chaly expressed his gratitude to the U.S. government, senators, congressmen, Ukrainian Americans and all people of goodwill for their words and actions to support spreading the truth about the Holodomor in Ukraine.
