October 7, 2010 – The biggest and most prominent concert hall of American capital the Kennedy Center welcomed young Ukrainian opera singer Yuriy Minenko who has been blessed with the unique and wonderful voice as a countertenor.
Born and educated in Ukraine, Yuriy Minenko became the first Ukrainian singer and the first countertenor who made it to the final of the Cardiff Singer of the World Competition (Cardiff, Wales, Great Britain, 2009). After his success in Cardiff his concert schedule was made up for a few years ahead and now he successfully performs on the opera and concert stages of Europe and world.
Tonight’s recital featuring the works by Vivaldi, Handel, Bach, Gluck and Silvestrov accompanied by one of the Britain’s leading young pianists Gary Matthewman was a great success. The audience gave the artists a standing ovation and encored them many times.
The event was attended by the spouse of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine Mrs. Natalia Terletska.
