Both sides highlighted the importance of the recent signing of the Investment Agreement on the construction of a grain terminal in the Port Yuzhni in the Black Sea that followed the First Ukrainian-American Business Forum  in Washington, DC, co-organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in July 2015.

The Ambassador of Ukraine briefed the US delegation on the current political, social and economic situation in Ukraine. He stressed that despite Russian aggression in Donbas region the Government of Ukraine is ready to ensure the most favorable conditions for investment projects in the agricultural sector.

In his turn, Mr. MacLennan noted the importance of electronic VAT system that has been recently introduced in Ukraine and expressed his confidence that it would increase the amount of investments in Ukrainian agriculture. He also confirmed Cargill’s readiness to cooperate with Ukraine in the future.
