On March 11, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Valeriy Chaly held a meeting with Tim DeGeeter, Mayor of the City of Parma, Ohio, which is a home to one of the largest and most vibrant Ukrainian Communities not only in Ohio but also in the United States.
Ambassador Chaly thanked the city Administration and the Mayor in particular for their constant attention and promotion of cultural, educational and social needs of local Ukrainians.
He also underscored the importance of development of relationships to U.S. cities, sharing of U.S. experience in the context of the ongoing local government reform in Ukraine. The Ambassador and Mayor talked about the opportunities for practical cooperation between Parma and regions of Ukraine.
On the occasion of Ambassador’s visit Parma’s Mayor signed a Proclamation which speaks about the contribution of the Ukrainian Community to the fabric of daily life, business, religious organizations, social activities and political process of the city and stresses that the Ukrainian has been invaded by a foreign aggressor and continues to fight for its independence and sovereignty.
