The Embassy of Ukraine in the US honored the memory of victims of political repressions in Ukraine with lowering the National Flag of Ukraine on mission’s building and laying flowers to the Victims of Communism Memorial by Ambassador of Ukraine to the US Valeriy Chaly and the First Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Emine Dzheppar.
In their remarks, they emphasized that on the Day of Honoring the Memory of Victims of Political Repressions in Ukraine we all together pay tribute to the millions of Ukrainians murdered by the totalitarian communist regime as well as draw international community’s attention to the violations by the Russian Federation of the rights of the Crimean Tatars and other Ukrainian citizens in occupied Crimea.
Representatives of the US authorities and civil sector, US Ukrainian community, Embassy’s staff and Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation with its Executive Director Marion Smith joined the flower laying to demonstrate the international solidarity with Ukraine.
