Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA Olexander Motsyk met with Ambassador-at-large for Global Women’s Issues Melanne Verveer at the US Department of State.

During the meeting the parties highly evaluated the results of the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s recent visit to Ukraine and touched upon the wide spectrum of the bilateral Ukrainian-American relations.

Cooperation between the two countries related to the protection of human rights was of particular interest during the conversation. The Ukrainian and American ambassadors discussed issues, including the fight against human trafficking, the protection of migrant workers’ rights, strengthening Ukraine’s democracy and women economic opportunities. The US high official praised the efforts and the positive tendencies brought up by the Government of Ukraine in terms of combating human trafficking and mentioned the progress of our country according to the recent monitoring research conducted by the State Department on the state of these issues in the world.

The parties agreed upon the necessity to further develop cooperation of Ukraine with the USA, other countries and International Organization for Migration on the above mentioned issues.
