On July 1, 2012, the Embassy of Ukraine in the U.S. held an event featuring screening of the European soccer championship final match between Spain and Italy as Ukraine and Poland co-host EURO-2012. The event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, major Ukrainian community organizations, Ukrainian and American mass-media, and friends of the Embassy.

In his welcoming remarks Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk emphasized a high organizational level of EURO-2012 proven by Ukraine, and the ability of the Ukrainian Government as well as the Ukrainian people to succeed in completing complex aims on preparing for high-scale sports events in a brief period of time. The Ambassador also stressed that guests of EURO-2012 got a chance to see for themselves the beauty of our country and feel the hospitality of Ukrainian people.

Mr. Motsyk presented the participants of the diplomatic mini-soccer championship organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in the U.S. on May 26, 2012, on the occasion of EURO-2012, with Certificates of Award.

The guests of the Embassy also enjoyed Ukrainian beer “Obolon” and traditional dishes of the Ukrainian cuisine.

In conclusion of the event the diplomatic mini-soccer championship participants had their photo taken in the Stone Hall of the Embassy.
