The Embassy of Ukraine in USA welcomed a team of the Ukrainian wounded warriors who take part in the 41st Marine Corp Marathon in Washington, D.C. on October 30th.
The representatives of the US Marine Corp, the British-American charity the Allied Forces Foundation, the Ukrainian volunteers groups in USA, journalists as well as a team of wounded soldiers from Georgia were present at the meeting.
A group of ATO’s veterans from Ukraine who undergo rehabilitation in medical centers in Washington, Chicago and Philadelphia has also attended the event.
The Ukrainian Ambassador Valeriy Chaly has welcomed the Ukrainian wounded warriors and expressed his gratitude to all organizations and volunteers groups who made this visit happened.
The President of the Allied Forces Foundation Stuart Taylor admitted that the participation of wounded warriors from Ukraine and Georgia in marathon demonstrates a high spirit and willingness of these countries military to withstand foreign aggressor.
On behalf of the Ukrainian team a former soldier of the 128th mountain brigade Vadym Svyrydenko said that they dedicate their run to all Ukrainian military who lost their life or health while combating Russian aggression against Ukraine.
At the conclusion of the meeting the Ukrainian wounded warriors presented commemorative medals to the activists of the US volunteers’ groups who have been assisting in rehabilitation and treatment of the Ukrainian soldiers in US hospitals.
