They briefed the American-Jewish community leaders on current situation in Ukraine and its fight against the Russian aggression. The Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister urged to continue to broker for matters of importance to Ukraine in their contacts with both the current and forthcoming U.S. Administration and the Congress, including the current legislative initiatives designed to boost the U.S. support of Ukraine, such as H.R. 5094 ‘Stability and Democracy for Ukraine Act’. The American Jewish leaders were also called upon to facilitate adoption by Israeli Knesset of a decision recognizing Holodomor, the 1932-1933 man-made famine in Ukraine, as an act of genocide against the Ukrainian people.
The representatives of American Jewish organizations also spoke highly of the commemorations held in Ukraine on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Babyn Yar tragedy. They also reiterated their support for sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
