Ambassador Chaly briefed Senator Cotton on the current situation in Ukraine, in particular in the light of recent efforts by the Kremlin to escalate the situation in Donbas.
Particular focus was made on continuing U.S. security assistance to Ukraine. Having noted the positive experience of cooperation in this area, the Ambassador asked the Senator, who is a member of the Senate Committee on Armed Services and Select Committee on Intelligence, to support the legislation aimed to promote the U.S.-Ukraine cooperation in military and technical, and intelligence spheres in the current and next budget years.
