Ukrainians in Washington D.C. gathered today in the heart of US capitol - near the Lincoln Memorial - for Vigil to commemorate Heroes of Heavenly Hundred

The event started with sounding of patriotic Lemko folk and spiritual song "Plyne kacha" (Floating duck) . With this song three years ago fallen Ukrainian Heroes went in their last journey from Maidan.
In his address to participants of the Vigil, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly said that we, Ukrainians, must be worthy the memory of the Revolution of Dignity participants, who gave their lives for a decent future for Ukraine. Valeriy Chaly stressed that the struggle for Ukraine continues, now against Russia's aggression. Ambassador thanked everybody for unity and solidarity with Ukraine.
During the ceremony the leaders of Ukrainian American organizations of Washington DC, in particular, US-Ukraine Foundation, United Help Ukraine and Razom delivered their speeches to the audience.
Ukrainian community and diplomats from the Embassy of Ukraine honored today Ukrainian Heroes.
The joint prayer for the perished was sent by priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox, Ukrainian Catholic and Ukrainian Greek Catholic churches.
The event ended with singing of Ukrainian and American anthems and candle lightning ceremony.
