Comment of the Embassy of Ukraine in the U.S.A. in connection with the death of a U.S. citizen - OSCE Special Monitoring Mission observer in Ukraine

Our sincere condolences to family and friends of a U.S. citizen, member of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) in Ukraine, who has lost his life this morning in the temporary occupied territory in Donbas.
The OSCE SMM is carrying out a mission of paramount importance for bringing peace to Ukraine's Donbas suffering from Russian aggression. In time of this terrible loss, hearts and thoughts of the Ukrainian people are with the loved ones of the deceased member of the mission. We also wish a soon recovery to other monitors injured in this tragic incident.
The President and the Government of Ukraine have pledged to ensure full and impartial investigation in order to bring those responsible to justice. Ukraine strongly condemns impediments and threats to the OSCE SMM members whose security and unhindered access are crucial. Ukraine urges Russia to fulfill in full its obligations under the Minsk Agreement.
