On behalf of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, the Ambassador extended condolences to the American people on the death of American paramedic, member of SMM OSCE Joseph Stone, whose life was tragically lost in the temporarily occupied territory in eastern Ukraine.

Valeriy Chaly said that he was deeply shocked and concerned about casualties and injuries caused by Russian aggression, which had recently affected international observers, who perform their mission of critical importance for the peace process in the Donbas region. The Ambassador of Ukraine also thanked the Vice President of the United States for the firm support in counteracting Russian aggression and restoring the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
