Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly took part in the 7-th Annual International Conference on Cyber Engagement (https://msfs.georgetown.edu/cyber-conference-2017) which took place in Georgetown University. Representatives of the U.S. Administration, Governments of Estonia, the Netherlands, Finland, Germany, UK, other countries, as well as NATO, a number of NGOs and industry took part in the event.
The participants noted that the international community is acutely feeling today the threat posed by cyber-crime and cyber-attacks carried out by certain nations. It was underlined that partner nations need to coordinate their efforts in order to develop effective measures to counter such threats.
Ambassador Chaly gave the participants of the Conference a number of specific examples of cyber-attacks on Ukraine from Russia, which de-facto became elements of “hybrid warfare” carried out by the Kremlin against our nation. He mentioned that Ukraine is interested in more active partnership with the U.S. and other relevant nations in order to effectively counter such challenges.
