On September 7, 2012 on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence the Embassy of Ukraine hosted music concert featuring talented musicians Andrei Pidkivka (flute) and Solomia Gorokhivska (violin). The event was organized by the Ukrainian Culture and Information Centre in association with International Club of DC.

The duet presented the pieces of world music as well as Ukrainian folk compositions.

The event also included the celebration of the anniversaries of Ukrainian opera singers Solomia Krushelnytska and Anatoliy Solovyanenko featuring their invaluable contribution to world art. The Ukrainian Culture and Information Centre prepared a brochure about these famous Ukrainians and distributed it among the visitors of the Embassy.

Upon the concert the guests were invited to watch the documentary about Ukraine and indulge in traditional Ukrainian dishes.
