On November 16, 2012, Ukraine’s Ambassador to the US Olexander Motsyk met with American businessmen – members of the US – Ukraine Business Council including representatives of «Holtec International», «Cargill», «John Deere», «Visa» «Exxon Mobil», «Chevron», «Monsanto», «Bunge», and «Philip Morris International».
In his welcoming remarks O.Motsyk informed about Ukraine’s economic potential, pace of economic reforms and steps taken by the Government to create favorable conditions for doing business in our country and in particular for improving its investment climate.
During the meeting the participants discussed the current status and prospects of trade, economic and investment relations between Ukraine and the US.
Investments and technologies brought into Ukraine’s energy sector by such American companies as Chevron and Exxon Mobil were perceived as important step to strengthen Ukraine’s energy security.
In an open discussion the US companies’ representatives shared the problems they face while doing business in Ukraine as well as possible ways to overcome them. Ukraine’s Ambassador assured the US business companies in our country’s commitment to market economy principles and Government’s readiness to develop modern European country with diversified and dynamically growing economy. O.Motsyk called upon the US business to expand its presence on Ukrainian market in particular by investing financial resources in our country as well as introducing best management practices.
The meeting was another important step on the way to further active development of Ukraine-US cooperation in economic sphere.
