On November 16, 2012, Ukraine’s Ambassador to the US Olexander Motsyk met with American businessmen – members of US – Ukraine Business Council including representatives of «Holtec International», «Cargill», «John Deere», «Visa» «Exxon Mobil», «Shevron», «Monsanto», «Bunge», and «Philip Morris International».
In his welcoming remarks O.Motsyk informed about Ukraine’s economic potential, status of reforms in the economic field and steps taken by the Government to create favorable conditions for doing business in our country and in particular for improving its investment climate.
During the meeting they discussed issues of current status and prospects of trade, economic and investment relations between Ukraine and US.
Attracting in Ukraine’s energy sector investments and technologies of such US companies as Shevron and Exxon Mobil was perceived as important step to strengthen Ukraine’s security energy.
In a frank discussion US companies’ representatives shared the problems they face while doing business in Ukraine as well as possible ways to overcome them. Ukraine’s Ambassador assured US business companies in our country’s commitment to market principles and Government’s readiness to develop a modern European country with a diversified and dynamically growing economy. O.Motsyk called upon US business to expand its presence on the Ukrainian market investing financial resources in our country and best practices in management.
The meeting was a next important step on the way to further active development of Ukraine-US cooperation in the field of economy.
